This family-friendly event is designed to be a rousing finale to our inaugural festival and showcases a range of festival performers and community acts at the Buderim Sound Shell.

Enjoy a varied afternoon of musical entertainment with our Emcee and award-winning children’s entertainer Nadia Sunde who will guide us through the concert.

This two hour event features Gubbi Gubbi Dance, Headline Artist, Eric Avery on violin and voice performing ancient chants and songs of his people, Headline Artist Karin Schaupp with The Riverside Guitar Ensemble and Diez Cuerdas (Ten Strings) – a Brisbane-based Tango Duo with Violinist Liz Young (Mendoza Tango Quartet) and Guitarist Rory Dollard (Cigany Weaver) who will pay tribute to Piazzolla’s 100th anniversary year of birth with a beautiful set of Tango inspired music.

Heartland also showcases the up and coming Brisbane-based Acetaria Woodwind Ensemble and our new mentorship program Rising Stars alumni – eight emerging musicians performing in two string quartets from the Sunshine Coast Youth Orchestra mentored by Camerata Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra lead by Program Director and Festival Artistic Director, Louise King.

Directed by internationally acclaimed guitarist Karin Schaupp, The Riverside Guitar Ensemble, resident at the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University, will close the concert. This ensemble brings together Queensland’s finest young professional guitarists with current guitar students from the Conservatorium guitar department performing eclectic repertoire from classical and contemporary composers to life.

Please note: the wet weather venue is Buderim War Memorial Hall.
