The Acetaria Wind Quintet  (pronounced: a.keːˈtaː.ri.a) is a Brisbane-based chamber ensemble comprised of avid musicians from around Australia.

 

Since forming in 2019, they perform regularly in the Brisbane area, having appeared in the 2020 Brisbane Music Festival, Queensland Youth Orchestra Chamber Ensemble Concerts and various performances at the Queensland Conservatorium, Griffith University.  The group has had success competing in competitions, winning the 2020 Queensland Clarinet and Saxophone Society Chamber Prize, 2nd prize in the 2020 Australian Double Reed Society Chamber Music Competition and reaching the semi finals of the 2019 Queensland International Chamber Music Competition.

 

They have enjoyed the mentorship of renowned groups and artists such as The LA Philharmonic Wind Quintet, Andrew Marriner, Paul Dean, Virginia Taylor, Peter Luff, Diana Doherty and Jeff Crellin. They are committed to playing the core wind quintet repertoire to the highest possible standard and performing new music, having given the world premieres of pieces by Cristina Bowden and André Oberleuter.
